Audio Monitoring
Acoustic Call and Action Triggers
Speech IntelligibilityIn emergency situations, it is not always possible to get to or operate an emergency call button. Take, for example, a threatening situation in a dark parking garage, a personal assault in a lift, or prison wardens facing threatening situations in dealing with dangerous persons. In situations like these, the Commend “Audio Monitoring” function provides a welcome solution. It constantly monitors the volume level of the background sound within the listening range of the Intercom station. If that sound volume exceeds a certain threshold level, the station automatically opens a call connection to the Control Desk. If required, it can trigger other actions as well – for example, it can activate a CCTV video feed on a security desk to provide instant live images of the area where the triggering sound event occurred. Of course it is possible to combine multiple responsive system actions as needed. The threshold value for such volume-triggered events can be adjusted as needed for different times of day.
Audio Monitoring Applications

Acoustic Intruder Dectecion
Acoustic room surveillance: the acoustic patterns of intruders are used to trigger a call; staff at the control desk can then listen in and decide on the action to be taken.
