You could easily route the input of an EB8E8A I/O module attached to an id5 Intercom Touch Station to some external equipment (such as a gate or building alarm) using a standard protocol like KNX, Modbus or similar. Using ComPLC you could then program the input(s) to make sure the gate is actuated (and/or the alarm raised) automatically under certain conditions (e.g., in case a smoke detector attached to one of the other inputs is triggered). Of course, the actual possibilities are virtually endless.

*Integration requires SymMX Firmware 3.4. Currently ComPLC supports only one of the same type of I/O module (EB8E8A, EB3E2A-AUD, EB1E1A) per Symphony MX device; this limitation will be eliminated in future Symphony MX firmware versions.
