Specialists for hardware, firmware, audio and software development work hand-in-hand with each other to meet market demands and shape high-quality Intercom devices, software and apps from initial ideas to finished products. Existing products are subject to continuous extension and optimisation, as they are tailored to constantly rising customer demands. The result are products whose longevity comes with a great pay-off for customers: proven Commend Evergreen Engineering bridges the product generation gap to make sure that existing devices can be fully utilised in systems of the new Symphony generation even after decades.

Software Development
Our tech stack reflects the diversity of our system landscape. We develop firmware for our hardware devices, powerful server software and user-friendly apps. We also rely on our Symphony Cloud Platform in Microsoft Azure to provide cloud services such as our virtual Intercom voice assistant Ivy. We place particular emphasis on cyber security, audio quality and the high availability of our systems to provide reliable, scalable and future-proof solutions.

Welcome to our Innovation Centre for Signal Processing in Graz, where our team of passionate developers is dedicated to improving the audio quality of our intercom systems. Our latest innovations, AI Noise Cancellation and AI Echo Suppression, ensure perfect speech intelligibility in the most challenging environments.
With our anechoic chamber for advanced testing and research, we fine-tune our systems to deliver unmatched clarity, ensuring clear and reliable communication where it matters most.
Hardware Development
We develop our hardware for long-term use and ensure that it works reliably even under extreme conditions. This requires the following main disciplines:
- Electrical engineering: careful selection of long-lasting and robust components, development of the circuits, power supply and interfaces.
- Mechanics: construction of housings, design of injection moulding tools, thermal stability, environmental simulation testing, protection against external influences (e.g. dust, water, temperature) or vandalism (IK protection class),
- Acoustics: optimising the microphones and loudspeakers for clear transmission of speech.
- EMC design: electromagnetic compatibility for interference resistance
- Ergonomics: user-friendly design, easy operation and adaptation to different environments.
- Certifications and compliance: compliance with standards such as IP protection classes, explosion protection (ATEX), or safety standards.
Our hardware is produced where it is also designed – Salzburg, Austria.
Reliability through comprehensive testing
Quality control, testing and test automation are essential components of our software development - especially for our highly available and secure intercom systems with complex networking and the combination of different hardware and software generations. Through comprehensive testing, we recognise and rectify errors before software is rolled out to the customer or new functions are deployed in the Symphony Cloud, which ensures the reliability and security of our systems. With the help of test automation, we carry out efficient, repeatable tests, shorten development cycles and increase accuracy.
